This major expansion and renovation to the Rex UNC Healthcare Campus included: a 17,000-SF, two-story central energy plant and utility tunnel; 400-car, cast-in-place parking deck and loop road; rooftop helipad on an active emergency department; 307,000-SF, eight-story Heart and Vascular Hospital with 127 rooms, eight cardiac catheterization labs, two operating rooms, two hybrid operating rooms, a café, cardiac rehabilitation and conference center; and an interior courtyard enclosed by the Heart and Vascular Hospital.
